Anyway, I had a dream about you the other night John. I think it is the 1st time you have ever been in a dream of mine. You looked great and fit and were in a great mood.
That is the John Corbin I will remember. You have helped out so many people sometimes to the detriment of your own finances and health. You have an ability to bring disparate people together and get them to collaborate. You have touched many, many lives for the better, and you will be missed.
We are not going to let your legacy within Ka Pilina and Burning Man just fade away. We have a couple of ideas that I hope you will like.
First is a scholarship program to get virgin burners and the needy to the playa. I know this has been something you have done personally over the years and that it is important to you. We want to establish a fund to continue this on as a program for some years to come in your name.
The second program is that Art Pad project you have worked so hard on over the past few years. With your approval we would like to establish a fund to get that up and running and into the future (also in your name). We will also try and get grants to help fund these programs.
You are a rare person John, I have not met many people like you. The world would be a MUCH better place if there were more John Corbins running around. You will be greatly missed.
Yet you can not go away because a piece of you will live on inside me and many others for a long time to come. |

I just got back from EMG up on the ol' Jemez mountain where I spent a lot of the weekend thinking of fond memories of you and Sulphur Springs. I could just about feel the wood fired hot tub warming my body under the stars. :) You are such a blessing in my life. I have learned so much from your gentle kindness and silent strength. You have impacted my life in such a profound way and I just don't know how to thank you enough. Walks through the Jemez, geothermal greenhouse, sulphur hot springs, selenite crystals, Pahoa, Cirque in Vegas, Monkey temple, metal casting, lava flows.
