| Comments: | Fond memories of dynamite flying across a room full of freshmen. Loud noises in the night, preceded by a bright flashes. Flashing lights in a seemingly random pattern on a box that clicked and clacked. Playing sardines on waterbed mattresses in a living room. Selenite digs in the bat cave - high grading stints in the Kelly mine. We have gone loud, we have gone bright, we have gone deep, we have gone fast, and now you have gone on ahead. Or is it the rest of us that go on ahead, while you rest now? |

| Comments: | John was one of the most kind and generous men that I have known. He brought many amazing experiences my way. It was such a wonderful time of my life living at Jemez. Making tipis and Mattie making a yurt, collecting gnarled branches to make doorways for The Descent of Innana. Soaking in the hot springs for days, listening to Elks make mating calls in the forest, dancing with you like two souls in timeless beauty and love, Traveling in the Crystal Ship van to circus and Las Vegas and bungie jumping! and then to Telluride Mushroom Festival where we ate pounds of mushrooms that you knew where to find and identify. And helping you make massive quantities of Oyster mushrooms. We even married a couple under the mountains of Telluride as their priet and priestess! Then, we were off to Burning Man to traverse the desert under the stars and gather up gypsy folk into our wild caravan! And also the wild times at Pantheacon with Gods and mortals alike.
At the camping Sabbats you would always bring that wood burning hot tub for the New Mexico Pagans to cook themselves in! And, we would sing to the quarters in ritual and dance all night around the fire circle.
At the sulfur springs you always had that sulfur smell infused into your hair and skin and whenever you gave me your big gentle bear hugs I would smell the sweet scent of Amber that you wore every day. I love how you were a truly compassionate person who practiced Ahimsa, yet still had this devilish twinkle in your eye who loved to pull a great trickster prank! If only you were 30 years younger I would have never moved out!!! You are one of the few people in my life who has truly touched my soul and that I feel that I have seen inside of yours and felt only love.

Last year when I arrived at will call Burning Man 08 I jumped out of the car and there you were all covered in white dust. It was so wonderful to see you at the gate.
Then after the man went down I traveled over to the flaming lotus.
You stood there chatting with a friend, not wanting to disturb you I took a picture of you under the flaming lotus thinking Id see you again.
I have many pictures of you I would love to share with those who also loved you and continue to love you even after your passing.
Something tells me an opportunity will arise for all of us to have a community where we can upload our pictures of you thereby assuring a long long life to the spirit of John Corbin.

i just want to let you know how much i love you and how blessed i am to call you my friend. your kindness and good spirit lives on in every "Answer is LOVE" sticker, which would not be without you. your magical gift to me revealed the ultimate truth one morning two years ago. i remember the night well. it was 4:20 in the morning and i was 42 years old and sitting at my kitchen table in hilo which happens to be 420 feet above sea level. so what's the Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything? it's 42. so i'm sitting there with all these sticky notes full of wisdom and random thoughts when it hit me. 42 means LOVE. it's as simple as that and you my friend are the incarnation of that love.
we're going to miss you dearly at the electronic music fest. thanks for always being part of the big island love ohana and being the presence that you are.

| Comments: | I remember sitting in a bar with you and another guy in Telluride, discussing the folly of New Mexico's laws that prohibit the sale of mushrooms picked in the state to restaurants within the state. And the oyster mushroom demonstrations, relaxing at the hot springs in Ridgeway... It's been a long time. And how you and Art, unknowingly eased my path into Neo-Paganism simply by being who you are. | Comments: | Please tell John we are with him in spirit and praying for him. I knew Jack (what he was called then) as long as 60 years ago, when his parents built a cottage near to ours in NH on Arlington Pond. Both he and Ken were and continue to be good friends, and we have many fond memories of summers at the lake. Jack always was a bit of a scientist in his early years, trying different experiments. Maybe that why he developed into a such a successful mushroom expert. We recently saw him at his mother's funeral, and it was good to visit with him again, and try to offer some comfort about his mother's passing. He seemed to be at peace with himself and life. Material things did not seem to have importance to him, and he talked a lot about going to burning man this year. His spirit will be there, I am sure.
Life seems to come full circle, and his journey is nearing completion. We hope that he will be in a better place, and free from pain, and his passing will not be the end for him , but a new beginning of an unknown part of his existence. To this end we wish him good passage to a better place.

I am always glad to see the updates that Wendi gives us on your condition. It makes me feel a little closer, although I wish I could be there to see you and talk to you.
I am busy arranging the camp for Burning Man. We will have Hula and singing of Hawaiian music as well as some spinners this year.
Checked out the video projector we will use at the luau to show people pictures of you (and maybe we will get lucky and be able to finally use some ReBirth footage!)
You are in my mind, my heart and my prayers. It is good to see the posts from many people showing all of us just how loved you are and what an important part of our experience and community.
