Yesterday was supposed to be Cisplatin and Gemcitabine. The Cisplatin is a pretty intense drug, and they won't give it if the patient is not well-hydrated. They gauge the patient's hydration by urine output. Anything less than 300cc after the IV Saline is started is not enough. Yesterday Dad was only able to give them 150cc, so he was given only the Gemcitabine. Today, after an entire bag of IV saline and a small bottle of water, he only made it to 100cc. I was only able to be there for a little while before I needed to come back to work (yes, that's my "smoke break" from work - running over to the IV Infusion center at the hospital). The plan was to do an ultrasound of his bladder to see what's going on, but I don' t know yet how that went or if they even did it yet. I'm going to head back over there for lunch in a few, but basically if he didn't start the Cisplatin by now, he can't have it today, because he's got radiation at 3pm.
