So I am the first one who will Phfffffttttt at a political talk show and walk away.  The reason is that most of it seems catering to one side or the other rather than just discussing issues without an agenda to raise awareness.

However, last week and again this week I have bopped into the break room at the office and stumbled across this show on Fox News called The One Thing with Glenn Beck.  I do not know what it is about Glenn but I find myself standing there with an ice cold Mountain Dew in my hand, my freezing hand, jsut being captivated by what he has to say.  It may have something to do with his animated personality or it could have to do with him saying something that I am interested in hearing.

Last week he was discussing somehting about a bill being put through that had something to the effect of a law that will give your pets and other animals the same rights, the same human rights as we have.

Below is an excerpt from Glenn Beck on his July 22nd show.

I mean, we've got czars now. Czars like John Holdren, who has proposed forcing abortions and putting sterilants in the drinking water to control population.

The latest is the nominee for regulatory czar, a Harvard Law professor named Cass Sunstein, who is a friend of Obama's and embraces the ever-so-popular '"senior death discount" that calculates the lives of younger people as having a greater value than those of the elderly. And he also believes in giving legal rights for livestock, wildlife and pets so they can file lawsuits.

Human rights for livestock? This is not the America I grew up in.

He went on to describe a scenerio that made a lot of sense to me, well as about as much sense as the proposale makes to me.  Will our dogs be able to retain a lawyer and sue us because we didn't play with them enough or get them the good kind of dog food.  To whom does this make sense? Human rights for animals? Ugh.

Today tho, he was referring to a proposal in Obama's Healthcare Bill about the governement forming organizations that will come into my home, into your home and teach you on how to be an effective parent.

Here is another Glenn Beck excperpt from todays show:

Perhaps support for the 1,000-plus page health care bill is eroding because people are finally getting around to finding things buried deep within. You know, stuff like Section 440 of the House bill that read:

"Home visitation programs for families with young children and families expecting children, would provide grants to states to establish home visitation programs to educate parents on child behavior and parenting skills."

The "well-trained and competent staff" will:

"Provide parents with knowledge of age-appropriate child development in cognitive language, social, emotional and motor domains... modeling, consulting, and coaching on parenting practices, skills to interact with their child to enhance age-appropriate development."

But Glenn! It's completely voluntary!

Sure… until we have too many little fatties in grade school who are increasing the cost of our health care. Then they'd have no choice. They wouldn't want to sent the fat police, but they'd have to because you're hurting the collective, the greater good.

But it's completely voluntary and totally random. If you want it, you got it — unless there's a specific problem area to target, like the one identified on page 840 of the bill:

"The state shall identify and prioritize serving communities that are in high need of such services... especially communities with a high proportion of low-income families or a high incidence of child maltreatment."

Wow. I just do not know what so say about that.  There seem to be so many things wrong with the way our world is today and healthcare is certainly one of them.

The United States spends twice per capita what other major industrialized countries spend on health care, with $1 of every $5 of national income going toward health care and spending expected to reach $4.2 trillion in 2016, or 20 percent of the GDP. At the same time, the United States was ranked last in preventable mortality among developed nations, just below Ireland and Portugal, with 47 million Americans lacking health insurance, according to the Commonwealth Fund's analysis of World Health Organization data.

According to GovSpot.Com

I mean, really?  As big of a nation that we are and we spend more money than other countries and getting less results?

So I guess to get back to the point of the post, I think I like this guy and will be watching more of his broadcasts future and past as they are captivating to me and I stay interested.  For those of you who really know me and know that unless it goes really fast or is operated with a controller, my attention span is quite short so this is a big thing for me.
